The M6 Toll is the UK's first tolled motorway (as opposed to river crossing).
The road runs from near Coleshill, east of Birmingham, past Sutton Coldfield,
Tamworth, Lichfield, Burntwood and Brownhills to re-join the main M6 at
Saredon near Cannock.
Traffic on the M6 Toll grew rapidly after opening particularly during
Summer 2004 when there were roadworks on the main M6 route.
However price rises and the end of the road works have resulted in lower
traffic in recent months.
